So as I sit here and work on this Mascot contest for this anime con, I realize this is the first time I’ve actually worked this hard on a design- creating multiple outfits, coloring her repeatedly, trying different poses, facial expressions… Everything.

As I’m sitting here, going through this whole process, (I’m pretty much done with all of that now though) I’m sitting here realizing, that I’m growing… I’ve had so many realizations during this picture- that I am growing big time as a artist, and you want to know the best part? It’s through hobby art. 

I’m going to be honest, I love all art. No matter the style, while I wish I could be a realism goddess like some of the beautiful people I know, I do anime style because it’s something I -love- Now I’m not going to go into defending ‘anime’ style because honestly? I gave up caring on what people think about me through my art (a long time ago) BUT ANYWAY. I just want to say, no matter what the style you can in fact grow, I think I’ve known that for the longest time but right now I’m realizing as I go along, and you want to know something? To realize you’re growing as you do it, it’s a great feeling. 

I’m sorry for the small ramble, even though I am sick atm, feel like crap, whole body aches and I ripped off a index finger nail, I feel fantastic from this realization.
